Class of 2021
Pete Hohman,
Football & Track
1964-1973
Hohman coached the 1967 Port Angeles High School team to a 9-0 record, only the second team in Port Angeles history to finish undefeated. His 1973 team was 9-1 and finished the season at No. 6 in the state. He had the best winning percentage of any Roughriders coach (.710).
Roger Oakes,
Team Physician
1974-1997
A chance meeting in the emergency room at Olympic Medical Center led to Oakes becoming the first Port Angeles High School team physician as a volunteer. He treated an injured player (Phil Early, who went on to a distinguished collegiate coaching career), and mentioned that he would serve as a volunteer going forward. He attended every home and away game for football during his tenure, and also served as a volunteer consultant for every sport.
Jan Urfer, Gymnastics
1990-2004
Urfer coached for 25 years at Port Angeles High School and was inducted into the Washington State Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 2001. She became an assistant gymnastics coach at Port Angeles in the late 1970s and became head coach in 1990. She also is a nationally rated judge, serving as an adjudicator since 1992 for USA Gymnastics.
